Registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria as a Specialist in Obstetrics and
Gynecology, Dr Efetie is a member of the Society of Gynaecology and Obstetrics of Nigeria, the
Nigeria Fertility society and the International Federation of Fertility Societies. He is also a
member of the European Association of Gynaecologists and Obstetricians as well as the
European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology. He has the Fellowship of the West
African College if Surgeons, the International College of Surgeons based in Chicago, USA and the
Fellowship of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in London, United Kingdom.
Dr Efetie has good operative experience in the core areas of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. His
special interest lies in the area of assisted reproductive techniques, particularly in-vitro
fertilization (IVF) and he had training at the Sackler Faculty of Medicine, of the University of Tel
Aviv, Tel Aviv, Israel, obtaining a postgraduate certificate in reproductive endocrinology,
including In-vitro fertilization. He also garnered good clinical experience inn assisted
reproduction from affiliated hospitals of the University of Stellenbosch, Cape Town, South
Africa. He supports medical education and is an examiner of the Faculty of Obstetrics and
Gynaecology of the West African College of Surgeons. Dr Efetie is also an assistant editor of the
Archives of Nigerian Medicine and Medical Sciences, as well as an article reviewer of the
Nigerian Journal of Clinical Practice and the European Journal of Obstetrics, Gynaecology and
Reproductive Biology. He is presently a Chief Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He is a

member of the Association for Fertility and Reproductive Health in Nigeria and also holds the
Post-Fellowship Diploma in Infertility/Assisted Reproduction from the West African College of Surgeon
